'Kick-Ass 2' Red-Band Trailer hits the web

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse return as young costumed heroes (and a villain) in Kick-Ass 2, which sees the characters from Matthew Vaughn’s film grown up a bit, but still getting into high school-style turf wars. Problem is, there are super-sized egos involved, and the public appearance of Kick-Ass and Hit Girl has inspired a new wave of costumed vigilantes.
Never Back Down director Jeff Wadlow stepped in to direct this story, which adds Jim Carrey in a nearly unrecognizable role as a new costumed anti-hero, Colonel Stars and Stripes. The tone is a bit different this time, as the film looks a little bit brighter, and noticeably cheaper. And, as this red-band trailer shows, the vulgar jokes might not be as sharp. But this might be worth a shot for Carrey’s work alone, and if you want to see Mintz-Plasse leading a giant gang of weirdo villains, you’re in the right place.
Because this is an MTV embed, it may only be visible in the US. That’s lame, we know, but we have no control over it. When an all-region option is available we’ll add it. (Try the second embed if you can’t see the first.)
